Gerritt (Amaru Co-founder, GM)
Carrying the spirit of Aloha with him wherever he goes, Gerritt is a passionate surfer who saw the importance of how his health and wellbeing extends beyond the waves and into his day to day life. Known for his hugs, smiles, and inner child he is one of the leaders of our Amaru family, and has discovered his life’s purpose in bringing light and joy to all those he meets.
Samuel (Administrator)
One of the glues that holds the whole operation together, Samuel is a crucial figure to the strength of Amaru’s family. Although masterminding the logistics behind the scenes is his main line of work, Samuel loves to interact with our guests, and his charisma and charm will leave you feeling like you have made a new best friend in Nicaragua.
Gabriela (Marketing, Wellness Coordinator)
Aside from her talent as our marketing guru, Gabriela is like our Nicaraguan Swiss army knife combing athleticism, intelligence, and grace in everything she does. Whether it’s charging big waves, engaging in deep conversation, or teaching her acro-yoga workshops she always puts 100% of her heart behind everything she does. Let her positive energy and can do attitude captivate you and change your life forever.
Tati (Surf Guide)
We still haven’t been able to figure out what kind of magic elements had to be combined to create such a lovely and amazing human as Tati. She is full of energy, spunk, and love, making sure that every interaction you have with her makes you feel like you're hanging with your sister. Her love for the ocean is reflected by her beautiful eyes as if all she does is stare into its mesmerizing waves for all of the day. A local legend, she is always down to have a party wave and share the stoke!
Robinson (Surf Guide)
Robinson has become an absolute staple of our Amaru family, and he loves to share his love of the ocean with all of the guests. He has a particular talent for making you feel at home and with family as he is very charismatic and patient in all that he does. His talents extend beyond his companionship as he is a master at almost all things handy.
Cristiam (Surf Guide)
Hailing from El Transito, Nicaragua, Cristiam has quickly learned and adapted to the waves of his new home here at Amaru. His froth and excitement for surfing is contagious and when you get to have a session with him, it’s hard to say who will be more excited. His years of experience, and is his charismatic smile, will have an everlasting effect on your surfing.
Roswell (Bar)
Service with a style has never looked so good. Roswell’s greatest gift is not only his fine sense of style, but also his professionalism in bringing the service to our guests throughout their stay. Roswell will quickly become your best friend as he is very inclusive, kind hearted, and loving. As a forewarning though once you get this angel out onto the dance floor for salsa night the latin animal in him cannot be contained.
Moises (Bar)
Attentive and always ready to make sure you are getting our 5 star service during your stay, Moises finds his natural flow in the bar. Without a doubt his attention to details in your smoothies and cocktails represents his approach to life which is bringing heart and class to every task he is assigned. Our King of Mixology, make sure not to miss out on one of Moises’s famous drinks.
Doris (House keeping)
There is no better feeling than coming into a clean room, and Dorris has mastered the technique. Her large smile, and attention to detail makes sure that you feel like you have come home every time you enter your room.
Yamileth (House keeping)
From the moment she enters Amaru Yamileth begins to make your new home feel like a sanctuary. She wears her heart on her sleeve and makes sure that you always are getting her best service no matter what the ask is.
Tina (Head Chef)
They say that love is really what makes food taste great, and that can’t be said enough about Tina’s secret ingredients. Her mastery at combining the local Nicaraguan cuisine with our alternative menus has kept guests coming back year and year again. If you get a chance to meet her, ask her for one of her world-famous hugs, it might be just as memorable as the succulent dishes she makes for you during your stay here..
Luisa (Chef)

Gabriel (Chef)
Master of the BBQ, and magician of some of our secret sauces, Gabriel has found his claim to fame amongst our culinary recipes. Innovative, and also traditional, Gabriel has helped to transform our kitchen with his new recipes he constantly is creating. If you are feeling a bit saucy, drop back into our kitchen during your stay, and see what kind of masterpieces Gabriel is cooking up that day.
Marcia (Chef)
No cooking is as good as mama's cooking, and Marcia certainly brings the ma to Amaru. Always cooking with a smile she makes sure that your plates are beautiful and that you are always coming back for more.
Ruth (Chef)
One of new up-and-coming chefs, Ruth brings passion everyday to the kitchen and an open mind to learn from the sages she works with. Her gentle nature, and cute demeanor comes out in her food and on occasion you might notice an occasional smiley face or heart on one of your dinner plates.
Goyo (Maintenance)
Amaru would be left a pile of rubble and leaky pipes if it wasn’t for the efforts of Goyo and our maintenance crew. Not only is he crafty and handy, but he has a heart of gold that makes you feel warm everytime you see him smile…which is a lot. Any problems, at any time of day or night, and you can trust that Goyo will be there to help get things back in working order.
Juancho (Maintenance)
There are legends, and then there is Juancho. Without a doubt one of the most keystone members of our team Juancho knows the workings of our property like the back of his hand. His years of experience, and having practically built most of the infrastructure on this property makes him a one of a kind. Hard working, and with the heart of a lion, he is one of the most incredible humans you may ever meet.
Justo (Night Guard)
Keeper of the night, Don Justo is the man who makes sure that you get a peaceful night's sleep during your stay at Amaru. He wears his heart on his sleeve and is always ready and available to lend a helping hand whenever you are in need of assistance during the night. Although he speaks little English, his large heart speaks volumes about how he cares for our guests.
